Heartache as man, 30s, found dead at Dublin house after ‘row’ named as gardai quiz man, 60s, known to victim

A MAN who was found dead at a Dublin house following a suspected row has been named.
David Mahony, 38, knew the suspect now being quizzed by gardai over the incident.
Cops and emergency services were called to the property in Brookwood Heights, Artane, Dublin, early this morning following reports of a disturbance.
David was treated at the scene at around 12.30am, but was subsequently pronounced dead a short time later.
A man in his 60s was arrested and was being questioned at a Garda station in north Dublin.
One claim that is being probed is that the man in his 60s intervened in a row between two men.
It is claimed that the detained man then placed the victim into a headlock before choking him out.
We have learned the victim and the man in custody are known to each other.
Local community activist Trina O’Connor said: “This is an unspeakable tragedy. It is truly sad.”
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his 30s.
They added: “Shortly after 12.30am, Gardai and emergency services responded to a call at a residence on Brookwood Heights, Artane.
“A male in his 30s was treated at the scene and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later. A man in his 60s was arrested at the scene.
“He is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in North Dublin.
“Investigations are ongoing and further updates will follow.”
