Community heartbroken as talented young Irish student, 20, killed in Thailand scooter crash alongside girlfriend

A YOUNG Irish man was one of two people killed in a road crash in Thailand earlier this week.
Max Hendrickson, from Cabra, Dublin, was travelling on a scooter with his girlfriend, who also died in the crash, when the tragedy took place.
It is understood that the crash happened earlier this week.
The 20-year-old had been named Ireland’s Young Filmmaker of the Year 2023 at the Fresh International Film Festival.
He was a second-year student at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology.
The constituent’s Labour TD Marie Sherlock said locals have been left heartbroken by the news and are supporting the family.
She told RTE: “I have just become aware of this tragedy today my heart goes out to the family.
“I understand that he had an incredible future as a filmmaker ahead of him, and our thoughts are with the family.”
The Department of Foreign Affairs said it is providing consular assistance to the young lad’s family.
